Toddler Children – 12 months – 3 years old

In the space of just a few months, your child will grow and change very dynamically as a Toddler. What makes the difference in toddler development is appropriate challenges introduced to the child at the right time in the right environment.

St. Martin’s Toddler classroom features an environment that conforms to the physical and emotional needs of very young children providing opportunities for gross motor development, language encouragement, and exploration. Learn more about our Toddler age curriculum.

Primary Children – 3-6 years old

In a family with multiple children, younger children often emulate what the older ones are doing. Likewise, the older children take great pride in being able to “teach” the younger ones. This process also allows the older children to better solidify their learning and gain confidence.

St. Martin’s School has 2 beautiful Primary Classrooms for children between the ages of 3-6 and are grouped together in multi-age classrooms similar to a family setting. Learn more about the Primary preschool age curriculum.

The Kindergarten Year

In the public school system, children of different ages are cut off from one another and children of the same age are assumed to always be at the same level of development and understanding. In Montessori, we see education as a continuum, a ladder where different ages of children together in a classroom influence and inspire learning. Our traditional “Kindergarten” aged children (5-6 year olds) are in our Primary Classrooms, and St. Martin’s School offers a half- day Kindergarten Enrichment program. Learn more in depth information on these Kindergarten programs.
